Moncks Corner is expected to receive up to $ 25,000 for his Miracle League land from the Municipalities Association of South Carolina, according to information on the MASC website.

Moncks Corner was one of 12 municipalities in the state to receive a Hometown Economic Development Grant from MASC, according to a press release from MASC. The grants help small communities with economic development impacts and quality of life projects such as community master plans, farmers’ markets, downtown facade grants, and building renovations.

More than 50 municipalities have applied for the grant. Those who received the awards ranged in population from 348 to 12,528, according to the release. Each municipality is required to match the subsidy by at least 5 percent.

So far, Moncks Corner has received nearly $ 1 million, some of which comes from donations, for the $ 1.5 million field, which will allow wheelchair players and players of different abilities to play the game. baseball on a lawn specially designed for them. Most recently, the city received a donation of $ 250,000 from Home Telecom for the land.
